Overwatch is a project I got involved with since the very beginning. As the first character artist on the team, I had the privilege of creating pretty much the whole character pipeline and helping the engineers developing the tool-set around it with visual prototypes, brainstorming and documentation for the rest of the team.
Here’s a selection of screenshots shown during BlizzCon 2014 showcasing the work I did on some of the characters and props for the game. More to come!
Additional credits go to :
Arnold Tsang – Concept art and paint over for the “Torbjorn’s development” image and all the original concept art these characters are based on.
Kyle Rau – For all the weapons except Tracer’s pistols that I created.
Matt Taylor – Who created Winston and Reinhardt present on some of the screenshots.
Hai Phan – Who created Mercy and Pharah present on some of the screenshots.
Rachel Day – With whom I collaborated on Torbjorn‘s FX kit.
Amirali Shojaei – With whom I collaborated on Zenyatta‘s FX kit.
Cinematic team – For the comparison screenshots between the cinematic model and the real-time one.
I also had the opportunity to help out the environment team by creating a few big props for the Temple of Anubis map.
I created the sarcophagus that you can see in this screenshot.
I created the Anubis statues that you can see in this screenshot.
I created the Sphinc Head as well as the junk robot that you can see in this screenshot.
